Purchasing & Facilities Coordinator
Michigan Schools and Government Credit Union (MSGCU) has been providing families with trustworthy financial products and dependable services for over 55 years; and we have a strong reputation for putting our members’ needs first. We are a growing organization currently seeking an experienced purchasing and facilities professional to coordinate the organization and implementation of maintenance and repair services, event planning and preparation, security, janitorial, and the physical upkeep of Credit Union properties.
The selected applicant will source, evaluate and procure furniture, equipment and supplies for all Credit Union buildings, based on needs, space and cost considerations. Additional accountabilities will include serving as the organization’s primary liaison with building tenants, scheduling maintenance and repair services, including the performance of some basic maintenance tasks as well as provide project support related to remodeling and construction, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, rules, and regulations. This role will also manage all details associated with professional meeting and event planning, including set-up and breakdown of furniture, equipment and food and beverage services.
Requirements include an Associate’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in Accounting, Building Maintenance, Hospitality Management, Project Engineering, Project Management, Purchasing and/or related field. A minimum of two to four years or more of progressively responsible experience in facilities and/or hospitality and purchasing functions is required. Familiarity with mechanical, electrical and HVAC equipment systems is highly preferred. Applicants must have demonstrated successful project management skills with high levels of customer satisfaction, along with a strong aptitude for budgeting, financial planning and analytic abilities. Proficiency in bookkeeping, accounting methods, and intermediate knowledge and use of Microsoft Excel is essential.
The selected candidate will be required to occasionally travel/drive throughout the Credit Union’s service areas of Southeast Michigan and must possess a valid driver’s license as well as be willing to submit to a comprehensive background, credit and reference screening verification.
